On March 9th, 2008 Kelly suffered traumatic brain injury while playing hockey. Details are in her letter to fellow hockey players

ASCAP Los Angeles sponsored a Benefit in August 2009 at the Troubadour  to raise funds to help offset the costs of Kelly's  medical care.
